New Transparency Register – Key Information for Companies

On 1 October 2026, the Federal Act on the Transparency of Legal Entities and the Identification of Beneficial Owners (TJPG) entered into force. The Act introduced a central, non-public transparency register in Switzerland, in which the beneficial owners of certain legal entities are recorded.

The new reporting obligations apply in particular to stock corporations, limited liability companies (GmbHs) and cooperatives. Different deadlines apply to the initial reporting depending on the specific circumstances. In the case of newly incorporated entities and changes to the Commercial Register, the required information must generally be reported within one month.
